Trees For Houston had a successful 2008-2009 planting season. With the help of our hard working members and volunteers, we planted over 45,000 trees and seedlings.

Since our beginning in 1983, we have planted over 360,000 trees and seedlings across the greater Houston area. We look forward to continuing our success this planting season.

This course also empahsizes the important role trees play in our city. The goal of UFTK is to provide a volunteer-base for local municipalities, school districts and neighborhood associations in the greater Houston area. Trees For Schools

Our Trees For Schools program educates third grade students about the importance of trees in our environment. Trees For Houston representatives administer our program at elementary schools across the greater Houston area. The program is a 45-minute PowerPoint presentation that covers basic tree biology and tree benefits. The students receive Growing Together kits, graciously provided by Devon Energy, which includes a native tree seed, containter and soil along with a bookmark/ruler and recycled pencil. During our 2008-2009 season, Trees For Houston reached over 4,000 students with this program.
