Volunteer
We need volunteers like you to help us plant trees and work community outreach events. Please click here to set up your volunteer profile, and make sure you scroll down when creating your profile and check the VOLUNTEER box. We will then update you via email with all upcoming volunteer opportunities. With your help, we are able to reach out to as many communities, organizations and individuals as possible. The need for green extends far beyond the city proper, so if you don't have a Houston address, don't let that stop you from volunteering! We plant all throughout the greater Houston region.

"Let's Grow" Chevron Potting Event
Since 1988, Trees For Houston has partnered with Chevron for the "Let's Grow" tree planting project aimed at expanding Houston's urban forest. Today, trees can be found growing on a half acre of land on the Chevron North American production field in Humble, TX.
Every spring, approximately 500 volunteers, young and old, from north to south, including Chevron employees and their families, join together to plant 6,000 seedlings of various native species donated by the Texas Forest Service. Chevron employees and volunteers then nuture the trees over a nine month period providing water, fertilizer and weed abatement. In December, the seedlings are available to the public for free. Given the proper planting instructions, citizens are encouraged to plant their tree at home or school, in a park or around their neighborhood.
Texas Forest Service provides statewide leadership and professional assistance for the state's forests, trees and related natural resources.
On April 24, 2010 over 500 volunteers came out to help us reach a new record, and pot 9,000 seedlings!! We look forward to this continued partnership with Chevron and all of our wonderful community volunteers who came out to help us make a huge difference in our city.
Trees For Houston's 2010 Arbor Day Planting was a huge success!
Saturday, January 30, 300 volunteers braved the cold to help plant 500 trees to reforest and beautify Weiss Park. Volunteers enjoyed Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuits and coffee to fuel up before the tree planting. Organizations, schools and individuals came out to help plant trees provided by Chevron.
Thank you to all of our sponsors: Chevron, Chick-Fil-A and Heritage Texas Properties
